The
Nexus is a modular inert atmosphere laboratory and gas purification
system with integrated instrumentation and control. The modular
concept allows Vacuum Atmospheres to offer a wide variety of
standard glove box sizes and configurations while maintaining common
subassemblies and user interface. The instrumentation system allows
the user to monitor and control all laboratory functions from a
single location.
The operator or user interface consists of a four-button keypad
and a color monitor with graphical displays for all system
information. The displays include pressure, moisture level, oxygen
level, purifier status, and blower speed. The operator follows an
easy to use menu-driven operator interface for entering all
information and initiating all available programmed operations. The
operator interface allows inexperienced users to quickly operate
even the most extensively optioned instrumentation system with only
a few basic menu operations. The purifier system removes oxygen and
trace moisture contamination in the hermetically sealed lab
environment. These models of the Nexus System are equipped with
single gas purifiers and manual circulation valves. The glove box is
a hermetically sealed, stainless steel enclosure with a full-view
window and 2 glove ports. A right-side attached 15” diameter
antechamber is standard. The optional oxygen analyzer uses an
electrolytic fuel cell to measure lab oxygen down to one part per
million. The optional trace moisture analyzer uses an aluminum oxide
probe to measure moisture levels down to less than 1 part per
million. The Nexus System controls all moisture and oxygen analyzer
functions through the operator interface.
